The guys at McSpadden's were great. They performed a spark plug change and a fuel injection cleaning on my car recently. Not only did they call me to let me know the car was ready (some car service locations don't notify you when work is finished), they also cleaned my car at no charge! Quick service and nice guys.

Don't know why I see bad reviews on this place. This place has great service, everyone is super friendly, and it is really affordable. I've been going to McSpaddens for all my car needs for the past two years. Before I moved to Austin I never had a set mechanic place for I was never that thrilled about another business. But as long as I live in south Austin I will be taking my SUV and my wife's car to McSpadden's.

I wonder if these folks are reviewing the same place I go to. Are you reviewing the Bee Caves location? I take both our 1999 Dodge Ram pickup and our 2005 Chrysler 300 in for both regular maintenance and for any problems and have never had anything but the best service and the fairest pricing. They have never scammed me. Far from it. They have bent over backwards to do the opposite. When they worked on a problem one time and couldn't fix it, they didn't charge me at all, even though they had spent a good amount of labor time on it. They give me a ride home if the job is going to take more than a few minutes, they remember my name when I walk in the door. I've gone to this place since McSpadden bought it. I can't even remember how many years it is. Getting the right service writer is always important and I always ask for Ryan. They always do a superb job and communicate with me about what's needed. They have never gouged me or taken advantage of anyone in my family. Counting my mother-in-law, we probably visit McSpadden 5-10 times per year. I'm guessing here, but I think they bought it in 2008? If so, that means somewhere between 25-50 visits to McSpadden, for everything from inspection to a major repair on the truck's intake system. The prices have always been right, and the one time replacing a plate under the car went wrong, they fixed it immediately. They give me a ride home if I would have to wait too long or if they need the vehicle overnight. Twice, I've been concerned about a noise in my car and both times, they put it up on the rack, fixed it and wouldn't accept any money for it, saying I was a regular customer and it was easy to do. The latest example was yesterday. Ryan himself put the car on the lift, showed me a problematic piece of plastic, and fixed it right then and there. Time taken, roughly ten minutes. Cost - nada $zero. How many places do that? In response to one of the other writers, my car is white with a light gray interior. It shows everything, and I have never had it come back dirtier than when I gave it to them, and it is often cleaner when I get it back. This is as good as a neighborhood place gets. We are getting more car repair places in the Lakeway/Bee Cave area and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

Working on problems can take time and communication. They are very professional and communicate everything that is needed well. We had a broken piece to our car they helped us look for the part to try and fix it ourselves, the part was no were to be found and discontinued all together and in the end they fixed it for us at a fair price. Don't take the negative reviews to heart. It's like finding a good doctor, relationship first and they have got what it takes. Remember you get what you give.

Great family feel shop. Fast and friendly. Not intimidating like other shops where mechanics try to upsell at every chance.

I love the guys at McSpadden's. Generally, I see them when I am having some sort of car drama (which is freqent enough as I drive a VW beetle) an am a little on edge. They are so good at what they do and so honest that they always put me at ease. I can trust them to fix my car properly without ripping me off.I highly recommend McSpadden's Auto.Holly Ferguson

Place is awesome. We were headed out to a party in Spicewood when a slow leaking tire caught our attention. Upon further inspection, it was clear we'd hit a nail. It's Saturday afternoon so all the nearby auto shops are closed, except for McSpaddens. They took the truck in right away, fixed it up and refused payment upon completion. Tried to offer them a beer but they said, "don't worry about it. Have a good weekend." Thanks y'all. Don't know why so many negative reviews, we had a great experience. Check em out if you're in a pinch

TRUSTWORTHY AND TENACIOUS – SHOCK AND AWE! This review is across years of experiences and will provide the facts around the “TAKE THE HIGH ROAD” integrity and “FIGURE IT OUT” tenacity of McSpadden’s team. SHOCKER #1) I was told by Howdy Honda that my mom’s Honda Accord had engine mounts had worn out and that all the belts and hoses needed replaced. I knew some non-dealer would be cheaper. Decided to give McSpadden’s a try and they came back with…. “Its just not true!” They even took the time to show me how they could tell. I left dumbfounded. Not a dime changed hands. This can’t hold up, I said to myself. It’s a fluke. SHOCKER #2) I drive a Dodge Ram Truck. I quickly got my oil changed at Axent Auto at 2340 South Lamar. The “free multi point check” came back that I needed new brake rotors on the front and my back brakes were worn unevenly, so a major rebuild was needed for a total of $950. I took it to McSpadden’s and … UNTRUE!!! $300 later I had my basic brake job done at McSpadden’s and another gouging had been averted. THE ULTIMATE DIAGNOSIS CHALLENGE) My Dodge Ram had a strange issue that FOUR other mechanics/shops had failed to diagnose. After 60 to 90 miles of highway driving a cabin “Ding” would sound and the entire dashboard of dials would “pass out.” I wanted to pitch this hardball at McSpadden’s. Michael at the front counter relished in the challenge as he took the vehicle in. When I told him that I was going to sell the vehicle in and this was an attempt to not pass the defect onto the next hapless victim, Michael’s eyes lit up even more at the prospect of helping ME take the high road. They realized that they had to get the failure to occur and leave the truck running in the failed state to track down the problem. So they hoisted the back of the truck and let it drive nowhere until, in fact, they got the problem to occur. They then poured over the engine WHILE IT WAS RUNNING until the tracked down a tiny sensor on the side of the transmission that had a tiny transmission fluid breach, which would short it out when just enough fluid had oozed into it. A bargain $400 to end the saga! Thank you McSpadden’s Team for saving me thousands of dollars and helping me believe again that building honest customer loyalty will maximize long-term profits.
